Return of Thursday sessions.
(posted by Rob, 31 August, 2010 @ 10:26 am)

Now that the summer holidays are drawing to a close, aikido sessions are being run on both Tuesdays and Thursdays once again. This is effective from today (Tuesday, 31st August).

On another note, a lot of memberships will be coming to an end today so don't be too surprised if you are presented with a form asking if you wish to re-enrol. Despite the three previous notifications that members have received by email most people haven't responded by re-enrolling online! So, who said the system was a bit early informing you?! ;)

As a reminder, a grading will be held on Tuesday, 21st September so if you are considering attempting your next grade you have only a few weeks left in which to polish up on your aikido so you are ready. This time will fly by and the grading will be on before you know it!

We look forward to seeing you there.

P.S. We are only grading to Orange belt level at this time.

NO TRAINING ON 24th AUGUST
(posted by Mushin Team, 14 August, 2010 @ 1:21 pm)

PLEASE NOTE:
There will be no training on Tuesday 24th August as Julian is on holiday and Robert and I have to work away.

This means, no training this week at Mushin. There are other clubs in the ZETAR group, please see the Links page for info.

Please pass on this message to anyone you know from the dojo.

Junior Event
(posted by Paul, 08 August, 2010 @ 6:13 pm)

Well done to all the mushin juniors who attended the Ski Centre in Folkestone today.
It was extremely amusing to watch from the sidelines, as some of the parents found out. My cameras was flat which was a bit annoying but I think some of the parents managed to get a couple of snaps.

Everyone was very well behaved, and the juniors are a credit to the club and their parents.

Our next event will be ARCHERY at the Folkestone school for girls. Next Sunday - 10:30 - 12:30.

Please let me know in the dojo on Tuesday if you want to attend, I have to let the event organiser know who is coming, if they are left handed and approximate age / size. There will be a chance for parent to have a go if we know that you are interested beforehand.

Please meet up at the school for 10:15, I'll try to be on time! :)

There will be a free session at the Folkestone dry ski slope for the Mushin Juniors on Sunday the 8th August from 11:00 - 12:00. Please get to the centre for 10:45 to give us time to get everyone registered.

Anyone taking part needs to wear trousers, long sleeved top and gloves. They do not need to be thick items but you must be covered up.
Please let us know on Tuesday at the dojo if you wish to attend, we need to know numbers for booking.

Please let others know if you read this so that we give everyone a chance to attend.

Mushin Junior Event at PVLC
(posted by Sempai Paul, 24 July, 2010 @ 11:29 am)

The Mushin Juniors Event at Pent Valley last night was a great success. Every one of the juniors was extremely well behaved and are great ambassadors for the club. They all showed excellent skills on the trampolines and learnt some fantastic moves, including...front drop, seat drop, back drop and even front flips!

There are a few photos in the gallery area ( my camera was flat so the shots are a little blurry ) and this one which shows that Cameron can levitate!

I would also like to thanks the parents that helped and volunteered to help..you may notice a rather more mature student in the photos too, looks like he is practicing his super hero skills.

The next event will be archery which I am trying to arrange for next Sunday. I will confirm this with everyone on Tuesday at the dojo

Did any of you know that we have a couple of super heroes at Mushin?
See if you can spot them.....

Friday 23rd July
(posted by Sempai Paul, 21 July, 2010 @ 12:50 am)

The Mushin juniors are all invited to a free trampoline session this Friday. The time is 19:15 at the Pent Valley Leisure Centre.
Please wear sensible clothing ( track-suit / t-shirts etc. ) and bring some refreshments.
The session will end at 21:30 but parents can come along earlier if this is too late.

There will be two trampolines with an instructor on each from the leisure centre. Whilst not on the trampoline the juniors will be looked after by me and will need to be sensible. We want to offer more events over the holidays and this is a good chance for Mushin juniors to show how well behaved they are.

Please feel free to suggest some events that may be of interest to all students, it will need to be something fairly local and that everyone could take part in.

Send suggestions to info@mushin-aikido.com

Thank you and see you all on Friday.

Would also like to thank Sensei Rob for taking the lower grades, everyone enjoyed themselves.

(posted by Rob, 19 July, 2010 @ 5:58 pm)

The SOTR Seminar went very well and from the buzz on facebook it's easy to see how much everyone enjoyed themselves.

I'd like to say thank you to the members of our club who participated in the event over the weekend. You all did very well and did our club proud.

I'd also like to echo my thanks to Jim and his merry men for arranging this event and also to Shaun and Greg for turning up and teaching us so much.

There are photos from the event plastered all over facebook, but you may also find them here on our website, along with a little video clip of Paul destroying Luca! Well done, Luca, you did extremely well over the weekend.
